Is Your Roof Letting Too Much Heat In?

HOW ROOFING EFFECTS YOUR HOME

Have you ever felt too cold in the mid of winter but absolutely sweating in the blistering summer?

Well, the issue could lie with a leak in your roofing on the Sunshine Coast.

Today we’re going to show you some of the signs you need to look for to determine whether this is the cause and what steps need to be taken in order to rectify the situation.

Of course, it’s always beneficial to get the opinion of an expert as you don’t want to be paying for work on your roofing if it ends up to not be the cause of the issue and you still have the same issue you had before.

A leak in your roof can also cause moisture to enter your attic and this can create mould and a damp environment, so it’s best to hit the nail on the head before the problem gets bigger.

WHAT ARE THE SIGNS YOUR ROOF IS LETTING TOO MUCH HEAT IN?

If you look at your roofing on the Sunshine Coast there are certain signs that you home is under-insulated and that it is letting too much heat in.

The first is if the temperature starts to fluctuate as you go to different rooms. If it is freezing in the kitchen but absolutely roasting when you go upstairs this is a sign your roofing might have poor insulation.

You can also look at wood for signs of heat rot in the attic as excessive temperatures can be caused by poor roof insulation.

Additionally, you’ll be able to tell if your roof has a leak during winter as it won’t be keeping the cold temperature out in the same way it wasn’t keeping high temperatures out in the summer.

If you notice any of these signs it is heavily advised to seek the advice of a professional to see what work is required to bring your roof up to scratch.
